No, you can file in or around March 2008. However, keep in mind that the rule for filing eligibility is 5 years minus 90 days from the day of becoming a permanent resident. It has to be exactly NINETY days, not 3 months. My suggestion is to wait a few extra days, since I've read reports of the USCIS returning applications even if they were only a day early.
