When to apply for citizenship?

I got my permanent green card last year thanks to this forum.
Now when should I apply for citizenship?

What is marriage based or employment based? You have a while to wait, depending on the category of issuance, could be minus 90 days towards the 3 years anniversary of your green card (marriage-based-wife/husband being a USC for 3 years prior to GC-spouse n400 application) or 4 yrs 9 months (employment based) before applying for US citizenship.

In the meantime, avoid ladies of the night, no driving under the influence of alcohol or killing of anyone with pinto beans induced gas, will impact your ability to naturalize. Also, avoid taking what doesn't belong to you, popularly known as stealing...lol!!!

The basis for permanent residence is irrelevant. All that matters is being married to a US citizen for three years as a permanent resident.

Let's say you have someone who gets an EB Green Card. Six months later they marry a US citizen. Three years later they would be eligible for citizenship.
