Regarding my question at http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=214193
QUESTION: Do I have to work for the current employer in the entire process of the GC application?
ANSWER: No. You can change an employer in 180 days after I-485 has been filed. Also I-140 must be approved by the time you quit the sponsoring company.
Two weeks later after I posted above question, I got a response from the same question from my friend's lawyer.
She said "when your employer files for the green card for you, the US government requires that you remain with that employer for a minimum of 180 days after the SECOND STAGE (I-140) is filed".
......When can I change an employer while in a Green Card process exactly?
