When can I apply for citizenship?

Well, since the trips abroad have to be temporary in nature, I think that the person continued to reside in the state. There is stil a risk, though, that an examiner sees that differently, in particular if it was one long trip, fairly close to the 6 months limit. In that case, I would still wait another 3 months before filing.

i read today about someone was denied citizenship because he applied 15 days early before the 4 years and 1 day.
he got the negative answer after 8 months of his interview.

in my case if i have to wait 3 months in the state i dont know what to do, if i cancel my application now and apply again better than wating 2 years.
what do you think?

i think i will leave it this way because i respected the continuouse residency and physical residency rules, thats the most important

good question

suppose someone meets all requirements of continuouse residence(trips<6months) and 5 years green card, and 30 months physical presence. as it s the case for Mr. cici
and suppose that this person was residing in one state since he become US resident. but he has some trips that are less than 6 months.
after coming back from the last trip outside the US, do this person has to wait 3 months to establish residency in the state? or it is not a problem since he is resident in that state since 5 years.

This is a good question. You are right, that is exactly my case. Since I think my stay (6/5 - 10/2) is temporary, I hope I can apply without another 3 month wait.

I am filing in new york.

when i left i had address here where i had my banks and credit acrds address and i came back to this address every 5 months.
but this address is not for my family, it s for my friend that was my roomate before. so the place is in my friend name and he pay the rent.

Hi cici to avoid any doubt apply after 1/2/2005. i made amistake by applying 2 month and 22 days after my return from my last trip.
i hope that they will not make it a problem, i believe it is not a prolem.
because i believe that i am residente in new york city since 5 years even that i went outside the country. since i had my driver licence in new york since 5 years, and i am paying taxes of new york state since 5 years thats mean that i am resident in NY for more than 3 months.

what do you think about that cici??
