We applied for I-485 back in June 2003, and had the interview on August 2005, and still waiting Can anybody explain the discrepancy between 3 months Dallas and XX years in NY? Why is there such a huge difference? It seems that people are punished for living in NYC? Is it because Dallas is in TX, and GWB comes from Texas, and only 23% of NYC voted for GWB? When I call the 1-800 and manage to get through, the answere I usually get is "there are a lot more immigrants in NYC than anywhere else." I think that's a really stupid answer, but I guess there is nothing I can about it. Any suggestions as to why it takes such a long time in NYC to process I-485. I called the 1-800 several times to inquire about the case. One officer told me that the case has been transferred to California for processing, the other told me that name check has been completed, and I should get the card in 2 weeks, and another nuthead told me that the processing time is between 270 and 300 days, from the time it was received in california.
