What will happen if I renew early?

My EAD and AP will expire in December. Since I will have to leave US in September and return in January, I want to renew both of my EAD and AP now. What will happen when I renew early? Will USCIS return my application without review or will they issue new EAD and AP starting the date when they approve the renewal, say, September or October?

Depends

It varies from service center to service center.
It will be renewed (and not returned) and you'll probably not lose any day/month even if it's issued early. My renewal came one month early but the starting date was in the future from when it should've started.

Which service center you renewed your EAD and AP?
