What to do after submiting DS-260 form?

I was selected for dv2018 and already submited my DS-260 as requested but the ceac.state.gov webpage isn't clear about what i have to do next. Whats the next step?

Thanks

Wait patiently for several months for your CN to become current and for KCC to finish processing your form before they schedule you for an interview, which depending on your CN may actually be sometime in 2018. While you're waiting be sure to click on and read up on all the links provided on your selectee notification letter - get all your civil documents in order.

On top of that, live your normal life while waiting.

Wait for the 2nd notification tho come..a few months from now or up to a year. Read up as much as you can as you gather the paperwork required.

Whats the paperwork requiered? it doesn't say that on the CEAC page either

Thanks for reply, i guess i'll just wait, this will be the longest 5 months of my life

In your selection letter there is a link for selectees. Read that information, all the following pages, and all the links from the pages, carefully. It's all there. If you don't have all the correct documentation you will jeopardize your case.

You're obviously not paying attention - this may cost you dearly. I already suggested you go over your selectee notification letter (again). There's a web link there (leading to other links too). Carefully go over the pages the links lead you to for guidance on what to do/what documents you need.

I can life normal life i have no friends or girlfriend and nobody loves me, and also i'm broke

You can't live a normal life because of the above stated reasons? Well you must have been living some sort of life prior to your selection, and you would have been living that same life if you weren't selected, so continue living it!

number is SA..8XX, how long will it take approximately?

I feel obliged to warn you that being broke could be a problem. You will need to satisfy the interviewing officer that you will be able to support yourself in the US and will not become a public charge.

Hi! I've tried searching the threads already so apology if this has already been asked. This question is about providing evidence on qualifications.

I won DV2017 and have my interview in three weeks. I haven't been able to obtain evidence that I completed high school in Australia as I graduated in 2003 and the school maintains records for seven years only.

I do have a Bachelor's degree, and I have the original transcript indicating that I completed the degree, but I don't have the actual degree certificate. Would this be sufficient to indicate qualification through education? I am asking because I know they are very particular and technically you don't need to have finished high school to have completed a university degree...

Otherwise, I may go down the route of providing evidence of qualification through my work experience. I have obtained a letter from my employer indicating that I have worked there as an Auditor since 2013 and a list of my responsibilities (so it's one of the qualifying professions and I have more than two years experience). What else would I need to prove my work experience?

Thanks in advance.

If you did high school in Australia, the school won't have your records but your state's education authority will. Find out the state education authority's name and they can issue you with both your transcript and a replacement certificate.

I graduated in 1992 and I was able to get mine, so there should be no problem with you getting yours.

Thanks Emily - I just looked at the process to get the records. I am currently in Canada and unable to lodge the request in person. I see that I can get someone to lodge the request on my behalf in person in Australia, however I am doubtful I will receive it in time for my interview in three weeks.

If I can't prove my qualification through education, can I prove it through work experience instead?

Three weeks?! Sorry I know this isn't a helpful comment, but why are you only addressing these issues now?

You could always go for interview and tell the CO there is a delay with the high school certificate and you'll forward it to them when you get it. This is probably a better option than trying to prove the work experience route, especially if you are not properly prepared for it. They won't just take you at your word or a simple letter. You'll need to properly document how your job & experience meets the work experience requirements.

The timing is tight but doable. I was in Victoria so I didn't need to lodge in person but it was done and complete within a week. There's an outside chance you could have the same result. Get it expedited. Then FedExd to Canada.
