Would like to know what all needs to be done after getting certificate that you did and that one must do with out fail....

Register for Voting. Is this Must ?
Update SSN ?
Update DMV records ?
Update Employer HR data ?

Do anyone have list ?

Congrats on becoming a US citizen!!!

This is what I did the day I took my oath:-
(1) Went to SSA and updated my status. Certain SSI and SSD programs are only for citizens as far as I know.
(2) Registered to vote. It is not a must but I think all citizens should vote.
(3) Applied for a US passport
(4) Called the Canadian and Pakistani consulates and updated their databases since I was registered with both
(5) Verbally informed my boss, though I joined him on an EAD and he never asked for a new I-9 even when I got my GC

Here's some of mines (Name Change)

1) Go to Social Security and DMV
2) All my Credit Cards
3) My Car and Health Insurance company
4) Utilities(gas, Dwp, home phone, etc..)
5) My cellular company
6) My Bank
7) My car loans
8) Car title, registration
9) All my Doctor and Dentist
10) HR dept.

do all of these need to be updated?
I will have to call each since its not easy to change immigration status in any of these items online.

Does Social security office accept copy of my naturalization?

thanks

It's not required by law, but I think for many of us it's the main reason we want our citizenship, it's to be able to vote. At least for my husband and I it is. To us that is the MOST important difference between being just a Perm. Res. and a US citizen - being able to make a change in our Government.
We live in a state that is very racist - and just by looking hispanic(which we are) we are automatically illegal aliens in their eyes.

Thank you, and please vote for those that can't.;)

CONGRATULATIONS!!

Notice Denna said "Name change" .
If you do not have name change then not all are required.

To SS office, take your original Nat cert (or better US passport) Show them and get it updated right there. Find your local office at SSA website http://www.ssa.gov_

As my interview date is getting closer, I too am thinking beyond that date and starting to wonder what all it is I have to do after I finally become a USC. I am not having a name change!
So my first thing obviously would be to apply for a passport. After that I am not sure it what sequence to proceed or even which offices I need to contact.
I guess once I receive my passport I should go to the DMV and get a new license? Go to my local SSA ? Register to vote..etc
Do any of you call your bank and credit card companies too? I know our bank has me listed as LPR with A# specifically. I do not know about the credit card companies?

If you are not changing your name.....I don't think you need to get a new drivers license(unless it expired). But, it's important to go to the Social Security office to let them update your status.

Also, yes..I think you should go to your Employer and bank to make that changes too. If you don't, how else will they know if you are indeed a US citizen, right?

Credit Cards, this I am not sure. I changed my name so I needed to get a new one. Maybe someone else can provide you with an answer.(sorry)

It's none of my bank's business whether I am a US citizen or not.

Those people CERTAINLY do not need to know.
