Hello everyone

Sorry to be so blonde. I am new to this forum and have a few questions. What is a Priority Date? What are NOAs? I just sent my n-400 application last week on 01/02/08. Today my check was cashed 01/09/08. Is that fast in terms of proccessing times.

PD=priority date (basically date USCIS received application)
NOA =Notice of action (letter USCIS sends you to let you know they have received your application).
While your check was cashed very quickly, it is not a good indicator in itself of processing time since you must still receive your fingerprint (FP) notice and interview letter (IL) which will be many months later.

Thank You for your help. I know I saw the message USCIS posted on their website regarding 16-18 months processing times.. Isn't the irony funny. Now it costs twice as much and takes twice as long, lol. Well keeping my hopes up for 12 months maybe :D
