What has changed and why? (Fast FP processing)

I am observing that new applications get quick FP appointments.
Does that mean they just want to get the initial pile down or that the actual number of new N-400's (and others) is way down and people at USCIS get them off the first table faster?

Folks here seem to think that just because the FP is done a month after the application, they might be on the fast path. I do think they need a glass or two of reality check cause the name check is to come for sure.

So - what's is triggering this processing?

Any inputs or just guesses?

Receipting delays were the source of delayed FP notices up until end of January. With receipting delays now gone, FP notices are being sent out in a timely manner. However, a fast FP notice doesn't equate to faster processing since the application must still wait for an available interview date later in the process.

Okay,

so we can spank everyone who screams that their IL still takes 6, 7 or more month?

It's kind of pointless to assume that just because the FP was done the IL comes 2 weeks after. That assumption is somewhat going on my nerves.

But Martin, how do you explain tsnbagman's spouse' case?? She got Interview date for April 2008

Different DOs and different circumstances have different processing times. So 2 people who applied at the same time at different DO may experience processing times several months apart. Likewise, 2 people who applied at same time at same DO may also experience different processing times depending on their circumstances (ie:name check delay)

i reapplied in december (N 400 appl. was first sent oct. 18th, 2007), and got my FP done in february. i thought that was pretty fast. i don't think people who did their FPs later are getting their ILs sooner although as much as i am happy to hear things are going better for other i can't help but be jealous. there was one case recently from a guy saying he had his background check last year for the removal of conditions that's why he got his background check done fast for N400 because his is still valid. well mine is too. i got my permanent GC in may and fingerprints done last december. if that is the theory where is my IL. i am so depressed waiting
