what happens if promoted during G.C

Hi I applied for my G.C couple of years back.. If I get promoted during this process (from Analyst to Sr.Analyst) will it cuase any issues..

I asked my lawyers & they said as long as the job duites are same it should not matter..

My company normally gives a "Emp letter" saying job title & job duties are same (as in I-140).. So will this cause any problems..

Do we need to inform the INS about this..

Is there be any information on W2 form, that indicates there is an change of Job..

Analyst to Sr. analyst is not an issue at all. If INS delays it processing you cannot wait forever to get an advancement in your career. As long as the new job is similar (The nearest similar job to analyst is Sr. analyst), you are fine.
So far INS has not come out with regulations as to how to inform about job change. So wait.
