i would like to know what document we need to back to US after my wife wich is pregnant has our baby outside of the US? we have Gc but what about the new baby?

Birth certificate to prove the relationship, and a passport I imagine.

Tks for the answer, and do we need to take some other things? at the port of entre they will require picture of the baby to proceed with the baby Green Card, or how does it work? do we need to file a petition? we dont know how is the proccess

Just show up at the POE with the baby's birth certificate and passport and your* GC. The relevant paperwork will happen at the POE; you don't need to bring forums or pictures.


*If the father brings the baby without the mother, the mother's GC or other evidence of the mother's LPR status must also be shown.

You also need english translation of birth certificate. You might require a certified one.

I and my wife are Green card holders planning to have baby in India.

1. My wife is planning to spend more then 6 months and less then 1 year in India. Do we need to apply for re-entry permit?
2. Do we need Baby Transportation letter for US consulate? I am from Hyderabad, India, can we get baby transportation letter from Hyderabad consulate?
3. Do we need baby and mother to present at the consulate for getting this letter?
4. What other documents do we need?
