hi can someone please help i got a letter from nvc stating i have to wait for a visa number is there anything i can do at this time like getting my work permit ? someone please help with answers thx.
 
Well unless you are grandfathered by 245i, which I do not think is the case, then you cannot adjust status in the US through your sister's sposorship. Since you have also overstayed, guessing by more than 1 year, you will be banned if you leave the US.
