My friend left USA for traveling before the end of giving 1 year
He was granted Asylum by ImmJudge in May 2004 and left US for travelling after 3 months (from avgust 7 till september 9). As you know people, "Applicants must have been physically present in the United States in asylee status for at least a total of one year prior to filing the Form I-485", SO MY QUESTION IS WHAT PHYSICAL YEAR MEANS:
CAN HE APPLY FOR ADJUSTMENT IN JUNE 2005 => BECAUSE HE WAS OUT FOR ONE MONTH
OR
HE SHOULD WAIT AND APPLY AFTER SEPTEMBER 9 2005

I travelled 3 month after my asylum also and had to wait one year form that date to apply. It's the best way

It is one year in the aggregate. You can apply in June.

Don't add confusion

You have to have a residence in USA for 1 year, not be physically present every single day of the 1 year requirement. Short tourist or business trips like that one do not affect the date when you can apply.
You can apply for Green Card exactly on year from the date you were given asylum.

I was granted asylum in August 2004 and have travelled to Ireland recently for 1 week. It is my understanding that I can apply for AOS 1 week (the lenght of my stay in Ireland) after the date I was granted asylum. Am I right? Guys, don't scare me, If I apply for AOS in april 2006 (to be continiously present in the USA) I will be getting my green card not in 2015 but in 2020-2025.

Again it is one year in the aggregate and even a one day absence counts. For verification of this from a reputable source, go to http://www.hias.org/Immigration/Answers/greencard_asylees.html#when
