Okay so today was my interview and It was scheduled for 11:30am and so I appeared at 10:45am and waited til 12:30pm in which I was finally called up. I was quite nervous like everyone in this room but the Officer that interviewed me was quite a nice guy, he was friendly, he asked simple questons like how My step-father and my mother met, where my mother lives now, and ofcourse asked me questons that I answered on my forms I filed (just incase I answered something wrong).
So anyways, He then asked if I have any evidence showing that my step father and I relationship is real and I simply told him that I don't have anything to prove that, infact the only thing I have is everything that I submited when I filed in June. He asked if I have a Birth Certificate (Long Form) with my Parents names on it and I told him that I don't have one with my parents names on it but I do have Birth Cetificate Card (short form) and he was quite puzzled but then looked at it and didn't know what to say. He then looked over another sheet and he had a surprized look, he asked "Wait a minute, you used to have a Green Card?" and I told him I did from my mother's previous Marriage, and that we abanned it when my mother got a divorce a couple years later, THE OFFICER then said "well we can retrace everything submited back in 1996 from your mother's previous marriage and see what we come up with, I also say this, I have never heard of a Step-Parent sponsering his step-child with the Biological parent not in the same country, the step-child usually gets clearance when the parent is sponsered and granted perment residence".
The Officer then kept looking over papers, I didn't get a chance to explain my mother being Banned from the U.S. because of Old Mail in her car and that the Border thought that she lives in the U.S. illegal, I dunno if that would of helped my situation (as I think of it now). After 20 minutes, he then said that "You will receive a letter in the mail in 4-6 weeks, you will then get ether approval Letter or Request for more evidence (like maybe a letter from people that you know personally that knows your relationship is real), I will not denie you right now so just wait until you receive something in the mail" Does this still mean, I still have a chance of being denied or wouldn't he denie me right on the spot?
So I mean it was a good interview but yet I am still quite nervous on whats going to happen, I hope I get approved but yet after I walked out of the building, I kept questoning myself on what I should of done to have my interview go alot smoother and have the stamp of approval. I think I know one thing like someone said on this forum that I should of fought harder to find an american thats knows my step-father and I real well but knowing me, I took the advice from 1-800 number telling me that I DON'T need someone to write a letter...stupid me.
