Weird USCIS

Hello Folks,

USCIS is weird. This is what happened. I am on H1-B with I-485 pending and my wife is using EAD to work. Today USCIS called her company and told them that she should be working on H1. I don't understand why she needs to work on H1 when she is working on EAD. I called lawyer and he told me that sometimes USCIS do not have proper information and they call randomly. I am not sure now what else can be done except I gave my wife copy of all mine and her I-485 etc receipts, EAD cards. Any comments from the forum is greatly appreciated. Anyone faced similar situation ever?

--------- Do you have any evidence that it was call from USCIS? Did officer give his name or batch ID? Who informed you that it was call from USCIS?

Her derivative I-485 has been filed and she has valid EAD to work no regulation/ law states that she can ONLY work on H1 and not valid EAD.

Her company HR department told her. I am not sure if the HR took any details. But HR told that it was from USCIS. My wife joined the company three months back and I *guess* they must be looking at my wife's I-9 form and that's why they called. Keeping my fingers crossed and waiting if they call again.
