I and my wife are green card holders and children are US citizens.

My father passed away recently and my mother has no one to live with in India. I want to bring her to US for as much time as possible. She has 10 year visitor visa valid till 2010. She last came to US in year 2000 and stayed for 4 months.

I am thinking of bringing her here with my wife and children who will be coming back to US shortly. Their POE will be JFK.

I would appreciate input from experts as to what precautions I should take to make sure that nothing goes wrong at POE and she gets her I-94 for maximum time allowed.

Thanking you in advance.

Hi VidhiVidhan,
I am in the same boat like you. Even my father passed away five months back and I am planning to bring my mother to US. I guess there shouldn't be any problem at the POE.

By an chance, is your wife and mother coming from Chennai? If so, please let me know, the date and airlines. It would be of great help for my mother.

Thanks.

Coming from Mumbai

Sorry, can't help you there. They will be coming from Mumbai.

And thanks for your response.

Frist of all, I am deeply sorry for you loss.
You mother's I-94's validity will depend on the POE inspector. He/she will make that determination. Your mother should keep her answers truthful, short and simple.
