Congratulations to our new asylees@f4n1us and Abhatti, welcome and enjoy the feel and thrill of one key battle won, give yourselves time to enjoy and thank God , then get ready for the next stage which is your AOS, i would advise if you have an attny to continue using them , also medicals plus 485 is about $2000, if its a family , you know what that means , enjoy.

I would pay that money just for the asylum case if it means I would get a faster process

Its all together a feeling never felt before, as a matter of fact i am still trying to digest that i actually got approved , considering anti-immigrant sentiments from government , i didn't have lots of hopes

But here we are .... Thank you for sharing your experiences and wish every one of you get approved if pending
Make sure to do your next steps accurately and on time but importantly stay safe!

Did you have to file 485 already? What's the point in lawyer in this process?
My lawyer's office make so many mistakes that I would rather file myself and triple-quadruple check all forms myself.

I wasn't being sarcastic, and my question was genuine. Sorry if it came wrong way.
Is lawyer required because of their expertise in filling in I-485 form or because there are some steps that lawyer can do better than immigrant?

People mean well and almsot everyone on this forum feels like family, we have been together for years and shared so much pain, disappointment but under this goverment, its better to look foolish for a few thousand dollars.
I COPIED THIS FROM REDDITT- ." All the people telling you you don't need an attorney are so misguided. It's like travel insurance. You don't need it until you need it and then you wish you REALLY had it. It's not about how easy the case is. It's about what could go wrong with factors outside the case itself."

My attorney is competent, but their staff frequently makes mistakes. Still I chose them because I’m unsure about the eligibility questions for the bars and other such matters. I thought I wouldn’t risk doing it myself, but I still received RFE stating that my application was incomplete.
