When was your interview?
Solely? I said sometimes. We have seen cases where applicants have reached out to their asylum office and they’ve said that it’s still processing security checks. We don’t know how these security checks are been conducted and I’ve heard some countries check are more exhaustive than others so that can cause delay. No not that part, I’m talking why someone would think that security check solely delays applications?
Unfortunately can take weeks, months now to receive the decisionHi everyone!
I applied for asylum in 2015, within the required one-year period. I received an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and have been renewing it properly since then. My asylum interview was scheduled for May 5 in Tustin, CA. The interview lasted approximately 3.5 hours and was conducted smoothly and professionally.
At the conclusion of the interview, I was informed that the decision would be available for pickup on May 19 (two weeks later). However, due to an upcoming business trip, I respectfully requested that the decision be mailed to me. The asylum officer agreed without hesitation.
Later that same day, the case status was updated to "Decision Pending," and the EAD renewal status changed to "Actively Being Reviewed." As of now, 24 days have passed with no mail, no updates, and no changes to the case status.
I’ll never ever buy the “security checks” excuse like never, there might be some other reasons for sure but not security checksSolely? I said sometimes. It is the security check. Because They are running those background checks with multiple agencies. So not every government agency doing it timely and fast. My AO told me this.I’ll never ever buy the “security checks” excuse like never, there might be some other reasons for sure but not security checks

FOIA after 45 days is doable?Woah, it’s time for you to email and foia request now
it's doable at any time. the problem is USCIS started to limit information they disclose - a lot of blank pages and blacked out lines. and no transcripts from the interview. I thought it's only in my case till see the same comment from another guy and a reference to a new policy.FOIA after 45 days is doable?
