Put your zip code and find your congressman first then, go to their website and they have a designated section for immigration work/inquiry, then follow the steps and they will inquire uscis about your case on behalf of you, and it’s best if foia is requested at this time

i had my interview on april 24th and no response so far, just Application pending, Houston office too. How do you requested an update on your case?

Send an email to houston.asylum@uscis.dhs.gov with your name and receipt number to request for an update on your case. You may also include the date of interview. I received a response exactly 48 hours after sending an email. Let me know how it goes.

I recently requested an update on my case from the Houston asylum office. Got a response saying my case is still pending supervisor asylum officer's review. Had my interview over 40 days ago. It would seem the supervisor asylum officer someone's case is referred to also plays a role on how long it takes to get a response.

I only got that about an hour after my interview was concluded. Been crickets since then.

So if its been crickets, why is that an advisable course of action? People need to understand no 2 cases are the same, ask yourself whats in your best interest, speak with your attorney,speed is not what you want but your approval, wishing us all the best.

False alarm. It was the service request response that I had about my interview notice. So I am gonna have this anxiety one more time apparently

Update. Case status changed from application pending to decision pending again. I think this is a bad sign?

True but asking for an update is not a bad thing either.

You can ask for updates but people need to start their advice with a disclaimer that’s it’s not a legal position, we are all desperately seeking answers , some are stronger than others, we need to be careful so an honest advice does not lead to disaster , we are in a different environment and this admin is taking no prisoners.
