Wait for oath letter - Tampa - and oath ceremony schedule

Sorry for posting this, but I am really getting tired of waiting for the mail each day to check for the oath letter. Have lost sleep over this anticipation. I know other people from Tampa have been getting oath letters within 4-6 days. Anyone from Tampa with interviews in Jan and waiting for oath letters? Also, is it correct that the oath ceremonies at Tampa Convention Center are twice a month, and the next is tomorrow - 01/27. so is it that they will hold on to the oath letters and send them closer to the ceremony next month in February? I know I have to wait for at least a month before starting to get worried, but when I see and hear friends and other people (I know at least 3) getting oath letters consistently within 4-6 days for Tampa, I am already starting to get worried, maybe I am paranoid....sorry.

I would be really interested to find out when the February Oath dates for Tampa, or March if my Feb 16th Interview date is too late for February Oath. Does anyone know where to find this information?

I called customer service, but got the standard 120 day wait response. Is there a way I can say something that they will pass me to an IO?

Father Mike

I checked the tampa convention center link and it does not have the February dates for oath ceremony. I dont think they keep it updated. Because I know there was an oath ceremony today and it is also not showing up.
I just did a google search for 'tampa convention center schedule' and the first hit took me to the calendar.

I have to update but today went to the oath ceramony at the Tampa Convention center and finally am a US Citizen. The next oath date is Febuary 27, I believe and then there are tow dates in March. If you call the convention center and ask when are the next oath dates they will tell you. I will update more later.

Thanks for the response bonita79 and Congratulations !!!

Feb 27 is a saturday. Do they conduct oath ceremonies on saturdays too? Also, I was told that every month there are two oath ceremonies, one at the beginning and one at the end, did you get this info about there being one oath ceremony in February at the convention center?

Yes, Call Tampa Convention Center and ask when is the next scheduled OD, they will tell you. That is what I did and was right on the money.

Called the convention center. They said the next oath ceremony is for Feb 26th morning and afternoon sessions.

Thanks bonita79 and wannabe-n401 all your research is a great help to me. Hope that all goes well for me on Feb 16th at my interview and that I make it to the oath ceremony on the 26th Feb.

One of the biggest worries applicants put themselves through is comparing timelines with other applicants whose processing is faster. There are so many factors involved in processing, and timeline comparison is only one part of the picture. Regardless of if other applicants are receiving oath letters sooner, give it at least 30-45 days after your interview before you start inquiring about your oath letter. Calling sooner IMO is only wasting USICS resources.

Thanks Bobsmyth, your point is well-taken.

thanks for responding

I got approved (early in September), but I am still waiting. However, this is due to my name change. The earliest name change Oath Date will be in November (will be in court, so different location than other Oath ceremonies).

The timing of oath letters always seems to come up. Be patient, bureaucracy is the most notoriously unpredictable machine ever invented, it will arrive eventually.
