I am planning H-1 transfer and talked to a lawyer yesterday (paid consultation). I was under the impression that the title would be XX engineer, and was told by the lawyer the salary offered should be fine. Now I received the actual offer and the title is XX manager. My feeling is I probably will face the issue of prevailing salary.
What is the best way to deal with it? The company is a small private company (non-IT) hence not easy to argue for a raise now. Should I go ahead and retain a lawyer for the transfer then deal with it then? Or ask the emploer to change the title to a lesser responsibility one? Thanks very much in advance.
