Voting on polls by moderators - is it ethical ?

I created a poll sometime back on if JoeF should be allowed to post on the subject of job change or not. During that poll I found out that both the moderators voted. I posted my concerns but none of them replied.

My question is - should moderators be allowed to vote on such polls ? It sounded that both these moderators wanted to create a lobby along with JoeF. Is it professional ? Can a moderator be fair and balanced if he/she votes on polls ?

Why not ? Remember moderator is also one of you. He/she can express his/her opinion. And out of so many members of this forum, just two votes should not make any difference, if thats what you are looking at.

If moderator is one of us, how can s/he be unbiased ? It doesn't make sense for a moderator to vote on polls on one side and at the same time expected to be unpartial. When you vote, you clearly take one side. It's contradicting by looking at any view.

hmm, I accept that. Its difficult, but I believe all the moderators try to be unpartial. Obviousely, Rajiv and his staff members keep monitor these forums and if they think a Moderator is highly biased they know what to do.

Its a public forum. You need to choose what you want to read, what is right for you. Any body can say any thing, its up to you to decide what to do ?

I dont understand why there is so much of fuss about JoeF ? If you dont like him, or his opinions ignore his posts. Its as easy as that.

As mentioned in my signature these are my opinions. I've no opinion about JoeF.

Disclaimer: I too a moderator for one of these forums.

Exactly thats the point, anybody can say/post what they want for 1 time might be 2 time or 5 times, but on this forum same message of 6months rule of thumb has been bambarded by JoeF with same link. (Now he has chaged his postings as well stance that he never said that after Rajiv's contradicting response). All his intention is make propoganda on this forum with 1000's of same messages. Because of such fallacy, we don't hear REAL experiences from members( also don't forget about SCREWING up immigration process/lost opportunity for members who did not ignore JoeF).

Now after failed propoganda on AC-21 Rule of Dumb, JoeF advices members to document/submit evidence to CIS for reason for job change if employers don't pay LC salary. Members who don't ignore JoeF and followed this advice can land in BIG TROUBLE as CIS might conclude that applicant has obtaned GC based on fradulent/misrepresented documents provided for GC(485)application.

You and I can be ignorant about JoeF's postings and stay out of trouble but what about all other members who might not ignore and land in trouble....Think about them..Thats what its all about.
 
Why not? Moderators are members of the forum. The contribute also and not just moderate.

The only problem we have with this JoeF guy is that he floods this board with his views keeping a good discussion from happening. He is a very resourceful person otherwise but on this issue of job chnage after GC - he is way out of line.

You chose to attack personally. But remember what I have been saying all along. You are a resourceful person but on this issue of job change after GC you are way out of line and you must be stopped.

You are calling me names overall and I am praising you on your contribution overall expect this one issue. That's the difference between us.

This forum used to be informative for the past 3 years or so since I joined but recently have been hijacked by some posters with strange ids!

JoeF has been involved much, seen by the ever increasing posts (6000+) and he has given up his job to help us all too ;) So why cause problem here?

On a lighter side, reading JoeF's (16th December 2004 03:34 PM) posting, why for heaven's sakes did JoeF sign-off as Fool? That will only pour more oil to the fire as others may only pounce on JoeF's apparent signature :p Geez!

Enough of the fun, take it easy guys!

Actually I have realized that I can't fight with you as for people who fight need to be at same level of standard. For you to fight with me you will have to raise your standard to that of mine or I will have to lower to that of yours....And none of that is possible !!! So take your name calling attitude to somewhere else and leave this board alone.

How do you know? Did you count them? Why don't you do that - one by one? It's will increase your math skill and that will be something meaningFOOOOL.

I wouldn't even accept congratulatory word from a person who cannot manage to keep his user name more than 2 weeks. Congratulate yourself if you manage to keep it more than 2 weeks this time.
