My friend has the funds to come visit me from Dubai and I would like to send him invite to do so.I have the letter but not sure what to write on it cuz he is paying all expenses. Do I just need the invite and send to consulate close to me or do I send to one he is applying at.Do I also need Affidavit of support form if he is paying for everything?

You don't need to send anything. Visitor visas are self sponsored.

All you need to do is send him good luck. If he is actually a UAE citizen, then he should really have no issues getting a visit visa. However he may have a longer than normal backgroung check wait.

If you want to apply for a visitor in transit visa, you must be able to show that you:

* have the necessary visa for the country you are travelling to;
* are travelling to a country outside the UK, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or the Republic of Ireland;
* can and intend to go straight to another country;
* will be allowed entry to that country; and
* qualify for entry as a visitor (read our 'Visitors' information leaflet for more information).

You need a short stay Schengen visa, check the embassey websites, they should give you everything you need, I'm not actually sure if US citixens need a visa, if your american, I just got one for my kazakh girlfriend, it was £25 and took about 2 weeks, the list of required documents was quite extensive, check the embassey sites for the details

US citizens do not need a visa to visit the Schengen member countries.
