Visitors visa - arrival after 8 years.

Hello,
My parents got visitors visa for 10 years in year 2000 and is due to expire in Mar 2010. At that time I was on H1. Later I got my GC and now I am a US citizen. My mother came to US three times and left within six months. But my father was busy and could not come here till now.
I am buying them tickets to visit me for two months before their visas expire. Since my father is entering US for the first time (No other activity on his passport) do you think he may face any questions at the immigration.

They both will be travelling separately as my mother is planning to arrive two weeks ahead.

Can you give me any suggestion to make things smooth at the immigration for him.

So are you going to renew the Visa for you parents as its expiring very soon.
If you are then how are you going about it?

Does anyone know the renewal process for a Tourist Visa after its 10 year expiration?
Do we need to go through the same process again as when the it was applied the first time?
