Visitor Visa Question

My Moms Visitor Visa was stamped for 6 months and expires on March 15th. Her return ticket is for March 16th.

1. Would that one day considered as overstay?
2. IF it is considered overstay would it affect her from visiting again next year.
3. What is the best option, advancing her return ticket by couple days or filing for extension and retaining the same March 16th ticket?
4. How late can we apply for the extension, would few weeks before the departure ok.

Thank you all.

1. Yes.
2. May or may not.
3. Advance the date by a week and filing an extension is not a good idea.
4. If you want to file for an extension, you may do it by 6 to 8 weeks of I 94 date.

A1: Validity of visa has nothing to do with overstaying. She can use that visa to request entry into the US until March 15th. How long she can stay will depend on her I-94 expiry date.
A2: Possibly
A3: You need a bullet proof reason for requesting an extension. What is it?
A4: Apply 45 days before the I-94's expiry.

Decided to advance her ticket. Thanks Ramabalaji and Triple citizen for helping me make the decision.
