Visitor visa (M) - How many visits possible/year ?

Hi,
My parents have 10 year visitor visa (multiple entry).

1. How many times is it possible for someone to visit US in one year (Jan-dec) ? Is there a limit ?

2. If they revist us with 2-3 months after coming here for the first time, would that be seen as an issue by the immigration officer ?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Its a visitor visa. They should be visiting. If they come several times a year for a few days each, thats fine. If they come twice a year for 6 month each, thats not ok and their status will be restricted or the visa will be canceled at the point of entry.

re: How many visits possible/year

Hi nscagony,

Thanks for your response. What does a "year" mean here ? Does it mean Jan to Dec ? In that case if someone leaves around Nov and comes back Jan of the next year; how would an immigration officer evaluate it ?

Does this not mean that granting a visa (for whatever the period be) or rejecting it is dependent on the immigration officer's discretion ? I have not heard anyone getting rejected for visiting two frequently even if the period of stay is long. The officer has sometimes given a 2/3 month visa instead of 6 months. IHMO - You can always put up a good reason for coming back soon again. Is it not upto the officer how they want to judge it.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

It is a rolling 12 month window. There is no safe number of visits, or frequency of visits. The key is to ensure that the applicant never appears to be living in the US. The applicant should always appear to be a bonafide visitor.

Thanks for your response. What does a "year" mean here ? .
