Visiting Canada while on B2

Hi,
My parents are visiting the US in a month and are interested in taking a short trip to Canada as well; I have a couple of questions in this regard;
1) Can they apply for the Canadian tourist visa while they are in the US (or is it preferable to apply from India)
2) If applying from the US, what are the documentation requirements

1. Yes.
2. You can find that from the Canadian consulate web site.

Ideally they should apply from India. Reason being, the US based Canadian consulate may not be willing to entertain the visa application since the applicants do not reside in the US. Having said that, I know of many non-resident applicants who got Canadian visit visas from US based consulates.
