Visa re-validation from mexico or canada with I-94 expired a year ago

Hi,

Mr. Rajiv Khanna and Other friends,

I need your advice for my case.

I came to US through employer 'X'.
After few Months I joined another employer 'Y'.
But I never sent my Visa for re-validation nor I traveled outside US after coming to US.

Meanwhile I finished 3 year period at employer 'Y' and applied for H1 B extension and it is also approved.

Now my passport still has the visa stamp with expired visa from employer X and expired I - 94. As the I-94 already expired a year ago, my lawyer says I can not send for re-validation in US.

My question is Can I go to Mexico or Canada for re-validation?

Any suggestions from any body?

--- Your lawyer is correct you can revalidate the visa in US if your Visa stamp has NOT expired more than 1 year.

------ Visa stamp is not needed for work; Visa stamp is only for travel, you can do it in you home country when you visit nest time. You can do it in Canada or Mexico but if Visa stamp is rejected in Canada or Mexico then you will not be allowed to enter USA and be ready to fly your home country from Canada or Mexico then get visa stamp and enter US
