Visa extn rejection before end of valid stay

Hello,

I have seen many posts regarding overstay when waiting for visa extension. What happens if the visa extension request is rejected before you have finished your original 6 months of stay? Do you have to leave immediately or can you leave by the date on your original I-94? Can anyone advise?

you need to leave by I94 expiration.

actually you do have a grace period of 30days from date of i-94 expiration before you are considered to have overstayed!

Where did you find the 30 days rule? For F1, one can stay 60 days after the expiration of OPT or graduation; for J1, one can stay up to 30 days past the period of training. In both cases the I-94 has a D/S on it. There is no such grace period for B visas. Even for F1/J1 the person is not staying past the I-94.
