visa expiry vs medicals: what is more important

I got my visa in september and thus its expiry is last week of February. I took my medicals on 23 July 2008. I innitially planned to move to the states early Feb 09 but by then my medicals would be more than six months old and thus have brought my activation trip forward to second week of Jan. What is more important the date on the visa or the date on medicals?
 
Why would you care about medicals if you have the visa? Date on the visa is the one you must take care of. Medical exam is important only for the interview.
 
1. If you got your visa in September, it should be valid until March. Visas are valid for 6 months. Unless you have special circumstances.
2. Medical test is valid for a year
