Visa appointment - which receipt number need to be entered, current or new???

Hello,

My current H1 is valid till May, 2007. My H1 extension has been applied on premium process and I am eligible for 3 years extension. I will be visiting India by end of January for a month and I need to get the visa stamping done. Since I will be getting the 3 years H1 extension, I want to get the 3 years visa stamping on my passport too.

But my question to you guys is while taking the visa appointment at consulate should I enter my current H1 WAC number or the new H1 WAC number.

Your answer/guidance is greatly appreciated.

But my new H1 petition will be valid only from May 2007 and I don't have the valid visa stamping on my passport. My biggest worry is about the VISA validity, will the new VISA valid from the issue date or from May 2007 only?

till what date is your H1 approval notice valid?
till what date is your I-94 valid
till what date your Visa stamp is valid in passport?
what date USCIS recieved your H1 extension papers (if filed with PP you may get approval in 15-20 days)
** you are using the word VISA for H1 approval or H1 status. Visa is visa stamp in passport.

you will get the visa stamp till your H1 extension approval. (you need to show them both the H1 approval notices as your H1 visa stamp is expired) for more info talk to your lawyer.
