To whomever can help me,

I'm trying to file for citizenship under section 329 based on qualifying military service (Desert Storm/Desert Shield). I have all the forms and I've read everything and prepared all the forms necessary except for the form N-426 Request for Certification of Military and Naval Service.

Forms I have in hand:

N-400------------Completed
N-426------------Need to know where to get certified
biographical form, forgot the number.

My problem is I've been out of the military for a very long time and I don't know where to get that form certified. Everything I've found so far seems to be geared towards Active Duty personnel or Reservists. I live in Miami, so there is no military base anywhere near me. I would be eternally grateful if someone could help me with this situation. I've called the USCIS and the military help line with no luck. I have my DD214, and some other records, I just don't know where to get the certification.

Contact the personnel officer or OIC from the base you were discharged. They should be able to certify the document for you.

Thanks BobSmyth for the reply, after posting here last night, I did some more reading in this forum and found a post which directed me to the Army Human Resources Command, along with a phone number. I called them today and a very nice lady told me I could send it to them and they'll do the certification.

For anyone else who might be having the same problem, contact....

I hope this helps someone else as much as it helped me.
