immigration is very hard now i am thinking to go back :( i got interview on thursday and officer gave us a letter it had 7 options and one of them was checked along with an appointment. he also said interview is over. was reasonabily nice person i would say did smile couple of times  also he gave me a form explaining something indicating background checks details. i asked him why is it taking long he asked is your name common in your conutry i said yes quite he said thats why.

"your application has been held due to fingerprints/fbi/security checks which is required before adjustment of status. Please allow us 90 days from todays date or from the date of new fingerprints so we can advise you of a decision accordingly."
when i saw other options on the paper those were horrible i am happy not checked though. i am going out for sure got my advance parole cant deal with this situation after going thru different stories on this forum. i was surprised few guys are waiting for 3 years. jeees i aint staying that long what the heck.
Now my question is if my application gets approved and i am outside the country can i have my relative mail me the approval notice to me and i stamped my passport in embassy? i am not going to deal with this crap check for 3 years.

dude, all i gotta say is tht ud b a fool to leave, cause it takes years and years to get into america with citizenship. so 3 yrs will go by fast im sure. but hey, im not gonna stop from being a fool if u want.

What makes you think it will take 3 years? Don't be a drama queen.

First of all, NOTHING is easy in life. You got stuck on the fbi name check and all that suff...you are not the first one and there are people that just wait patiently, it's frustrated sometimes but people just sit tight and that's it. Start to make moves, call their senator, keep calling, etc.

Now if you don't have that patient and you leave, your advance parole is not useful for more than few months. If you stay outside the US your application is consider abandon and would be denied. And even if you have an advance parole but you overstay more than 180 days up to a year you are bar for the 3/10 year to re-enter the US.

Those are the rules. You might get stuck in FBI namecheck.
Immigration is a benefit, not a right.
If you don't want to wait, you're free to go back to your country.

dude! so basically you came here for the money and not b/c you love this country??!! that sucks.....i'm going to say that i totally dislike it when ppl do that..just get the GC and then bounce out of here.....i mean i don't see the point!!!!!!....well what i'm trying to say is that you've come such a long way and now you want to get out of here?? the whole GC process is frustrating, and long, and emotionally draining, but that's how it is, its a priveledge, not a right. but you get a work permit and a travel permit so your free to work and travel as you please. i just don't see the problem. and you don't know if it's going to be 3 years. so just relax.

thanks for the replies

i do appreciate your replies, all of you are right and honestly to me its not a matter of country i love or not, all of you guys will be considered as foreigners anyway. It was not my first choice anyway my wife wanted me to go thru all this hassle. this is a great country I must say. People are nice yeah there are some black sheeps but those are everywhere. I dont personally mean that it will take 3 years for the name check. it could be early. I will come back before the advance parol expires. there is lot of frustration among name check people and i just dont wana be part of that frustration. everyday looking at mail, everyday u have it in ur mind back ground back ground, who made this back ground? a person is giving u his finger prints social security, home country address all brothers sister info what else do you want? what is he going to do nothing. i am sure all of u guys never broke the law and still suffering because of this name check worth it? NO..

It sounds to me that you just don't want to stay here, and being stuck in name check process is just an excuse to leave this country...
We get frustrated over a lot of things in life. It's not just the immigration issues. If there was no problem with your name check process, I'm sure there would be other things in your life you would be frustrated about, and would want to leave again...
Bottom line is: If you're happy where you are now, you would overcome these problems, and move on with your life...
Just don't let the immigration problems to effect your life as much as possible.
Good luck!

I was stuck in name check for a long time just because my name "Murali" and ends with Ali go figure. Looks like you needed and excuse to quit and got nice one. I think you better leave as its going to be even tough if you have to wait.
