Very general question about the Citizenship time

How many months or years does it take to get a US citizenship in general? (petitioned by a US citizen spouse). I will be receiving my GC after being marriage soon and am planning to apply for US citizenship as well.

Start researching there. Learn through others experience, get the GC first and then worry about the citizenship.

The current average is about 5 months in general, but can be more or less depending on where you live(local field office). A couple of years back it was taking about a year or more.

Just to clarify: the 5 months is just the citizenship process itself; there is still a 3-year or 5-year waiting period before applying for citizenship (minus 90 days for the continuous residence aspect).
