Validity of Adavanced Parole ?

My 1st AP is expiring in 03/27/2004.
I did visit to my home country for a month in Nov'03 and came back on 11/24/03. At the port of entry (SPM) INS officer checked all copies of my AP documents and stamped it saying "Paroled until: Nov 23, 2004: Purpose:AOS"

Question:

1. Is my 1st AP valid till 03/27/2004 or 11/23/2004?
2. If AP is used does it extend automatically for a year after the date you returned back to US?

3. About EAD: What is EAD mailer?

Any help would be appreciated.

---- When you get your EAD in envelope it has a paper and the TOP portion is Mailer that you should detach it and send it for EAD renewal with application because it has your Name, A# and address

you should also apply for new AP now
 
AP Validity

Your AP is valid till 03/27/04 only . . before which, you may travel again and enter with the same AP. But each time you come back in to the US, the officer at the POE stamps a period of 1 year on your passport as a period "paroled until". Meaning, you are in paroled status until the date stamped on your passport. But you may use the AP only till the expiry date on the AP document.
 
AND you should apply for new AP because many service centers take time for AP approval.

Here is the situation

I Got my AP Approved on 7/9/03 and Valid until 7/9/2004

I used the AP in Sep'03 to Visit India and came back on AP, that time they stamped my PP Payrolled until.... a year from then

Now I am in US, and Need to visit india again in Feb'04

Can I apply for AP Reneval and Visit India with my existing AP?.

Or once I apply for Reneval of AP, Do i Have to stay here until i get it?. Does Applying for Renewal nullify the Validity of My Current AP?..

Any help is appreciated..

You can go to India again

Applying AP doesn't nullify the current AP. As long as you have validity on the current AP, you can stay in India.

You can apply for AP renewal and visit India on existing AP. If you plan for a longer term in India, you can even mention to post your renewed AP to the Chennai INS so that you can collect it there. This should be mentioned while applying for AP renewal.

Hi Mansee,

I am planning to visit india using my AP for the first time.

I have understood the procedure and docs required at port of entry in US.

My question is since you have visited india once using AP. while
returning from Indian airport did the Indian airport authorities
recognised the AP.
Do they know what this AP is since lack of awareness on AP in indian airports can also be a problem to us.

Please share with us your experience with AP when u have shown to airport authorities in India at the airport while coming to US.

Any help will be appreciated.

Airlines and Indian Airport know what AP is and you are not the first to use AP. Relax!!
