Valid TN visa, outside US, Lost job and visiting US for a drug test for another employer[URGENT]

Guys,

I currently have a valid TN vis abut my job ended in Dec 2021(I was working for it remotely from Canada anyway due to pandemic).

Now, I wish to go to US for a drug test requested by another employer. I understand my TN visa will not be valid after 60 days. Any suggestions on how to deal with this issue?

Its urgent, I have to go for drug test tomorrow :)

You can't enter the US on TN status for a purpose other than to work for the TN employer. But as (I'm assuming) you're a Canadian citizen, you can simply use your Canadian passport to enter the US as a regular B2 visitor to do the drug test. You will need to be fully vaccinated to enter.

(By the way, as a Canadian citizen, you never had a TN "visa" -- you were admitted into TN status without needing a visa.)

Thanks, should I ask the officer to cancel my current TN visa or is it automatically cancelled?
 
You don't have status while outside the US. Your status ceased when you left the US. The next time you seek to enter the US, you will be entering into B2 status, which has nothing to do with that status in your previous stay. Even when you eventually seek entry into TN status in your new job, you will need to go through a new "initial" TN admission since it's a new job; it won't matter that the 3 years of the previous TN admission hasn't ended.
 
Forget the old TN, it is not valid, nor is there any grace period since you left US. nor does it carry any "stigma", so don';t worry about that.
You are like any other Cdn seeking entry for the purpose of applying for a job. Show the officer your appointment, assure them that you have current foreign residential ties and you will be admitted on B status (some admit in B1 business , some admit in B2 tourist) for the purpose of your test/interview/etc.

can you do the same test in Canada and the lab can send results to new employer.
OR
You can ask employer that if it is OK that they send you for drug test randomly...SAY anytime after joining/getting TN

just avoiding travel into US, vaccination, cbp questions, saving time and $$$ etc.

No most US employers don't accept the test from Canada. I confirm, I went for the test and came back...wasn't asked a lot of questions.
