Valid H1B lost job

Hi, My company applied for my H1B. It got approved and i got the stamp on my passport. But before getting into US; my company called me and told that their business requirements are changing and they don't want me in their office. Now my question is can i travell on that visa and get into US and look for a job. Can any one guide me on that what should be the better way for starting job in US. Right now i am in my home country.

You could, But the risks ars

1. At POE, officer cross verifies your employment with your employer and employer replyis -ve, you will get deported.

2. If you are lucky and enter but not able to get a job with in 2 to 4 weeks your H1 transfer will be big issue.

So try to get a employer before in hand so that your transfer can be initiated as soon as you landed in US.

If you come to the US and then try to do a H1 transfer, you will need to provide paystubs of former company. So better to get a new sponsor and have them transfer the H1 to their name. Then come to the US.

---------- US employer filed H1 petition for you and that was approved and you got H1 stamp based on H1 approval and now the employer does not have job for you and they may have canclled/revoked the Petition

---NO, you got H1 stamp based on particular employer H1 approval and job offer and that employer has no job for you. you will be sent back from POE

---------- find new employer and let him file H1 for you after April 2007
