npnjan02,
Everytime I contact (email) to Senator's office, I got response from Senator's office in the same day, they either tell me that they are going to send enquire or call NSC, I was told they usually got feedback from NSC in 10 business day, so we have to wait 10 business days.
The Senator's office that I am contacting is in the same region where I live in. They are very friendly. Like what I said after replying RFE, I waited almost 3 month, no news from NSC, I called Senator's office, explained to the person who is in charge of this kind of issues, she followed my case with NSC, then I got fp2 notice. Now my fp result is sitting in NSC, no further news, so I sent her email again, she replied me right way and told me that she called NSC and just found out the process and how the docs were updated over there, she wanted me to wait a few more days, and she would contact congressional contact this Friday if no news on my case, because my fingerprint result was received by NSC on September 10, we should give NSC 10 business days to process it.
Hope this information could give you some help.
