USCIS Alien Registration Requirements

I was reading on the USCIS website ( https://www.uscis.gov/alienregistration ) about the executive order Protecting the American People Against Invasion about Alien Registration for anyone over 14 years of age
I have my two children - over age of 14 on TD visa, when I did my renewal last year at land border entry point, I do NOT recall they/all of us were fingerprinted. I do recall myself and my spouse were fingerprinted prior on TN application at the same land border entry point.

My question does i have to register my children over 14 to be fingerprinted and registered? I have downloaded and printed their electronic I-94. The following is from USCIS website

reading the executive order my understanding is that this ORDER applies to ONLY who are illegally (adults and children over/under 14 yrs of age) in the USA

Thanks

If one has a valid I-84, they are registered. If one is registered and was not fingerprinted, then fingerprinting was not required.

Thanks Nelsona
I was still worried but as today the law is published in the federal register is clear who are considered at registered.

Following is some excerpt from published law

=================================================
DHS regulations identify the following forms as registration forms:

  • I-67, Inspection Record—Hungarian refugees (Act of July 25, 1958).

  • I-94, Arrival-Departure Record—Aliens admitted as nonimmigrants; [

See8 CFR 264.1(b). In addition, under a note to section 264.1(b), a valid, unexpired nonimmigrant DHS admission or parole stamp in a foreign passport constitutes evidence of registration.

Does TN status holder has to fill out I-9 E-Employment Eligibility - E Verify Forms EVERY TIME they get new TN. I filled the I-9 form after my first TN 2018 and my company checked it. After that I have NOT filled again I-9 form at all.

the employer maintains the i-9. if something material changes, then they must update the i-9. a new they would need a new i-9, since your original; I-94 is long expired,

So just to confirm, if we have updated I94, we don't need to register, correct? We are a family with a mixture of H1B and TN visas (and dependents - one over 14 and one under 14); since we all got updated I94 last year in September, I take it we don't need to take any action now. Please re-confirm.

If the updated I-94 has a change in date, of course this needs to be sent to the employer for their I-9. If it merely a new I-94 issues because you left N America, with no other changes, it would be best practice to submit to employer, as the old I-94 doesn't really exist as a basis for the I-9.

What the kids have is meaningless in this discussion; they aren't employed.
