US police certification OR fbi fingerprint

I lived in usa for 16 months in 2007on F1 status (my wife was F2) afterward we came back home (to Montreal).
My wife won DV lottery and our number is actually current. We were told to do police certification in countries we used to reside for at least 6 months. My question is :do we have to do US police certification since our FBI fingerprint are already in the USCIS system ?
