US Passport - what documents required ? Birth Certificates ??

Hi

I got oath letter for this month.
I am sure you would have applied for US passport.

My question is what documents are required ?
1. US citizenship certificate
...

Do we need birth certificates ?
What if we have only not-found certificates which we produced at the time of applying GC?
What if I don't have ? I am not able to find these, still searching, not sure where they are....What to do in this case ?

Actually when we filed for GC:
Myself - did not had original certificate, produced not-found certificate from Indian govt;
Spouce - did not had original certificate, produced not-found certificate from Indian govt;
Daugther-Have original certificate.

BUT I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH FINDING THESE ABOVE ORIGINALS...

If you look at the passport application form it's pretty clear what you need to attach -

1. Proof of US citizenship - Natz certificate
2. Proof of identity
3. Photographs
4. Fees

No mention of Birth certificate.
 
But, for indian born kid, US passport application mentions about Birth certificate ??

Does anyone recently applied can answer this ?
 
For a child you will have to enclose all this -

1. Your naturalization certificate - original
2. Childs GC, original
3. Childs Birth Certificate - Original

I just went through this a couple of months back.
 
Applying US passport for my child

My husband is a naturalized citizen.Iam a green card holder.We would like to apply for US passport for our 13 yr old son.What r the documents required?
To my knowledge we have to submit
1.My husband's naturalization certificate-original
2.My son's green card
3.My son's birth certificate
4.My green card copy
Plz share ur valuable suggestions regarding this

You should substitute #4 with a copy of your marriage certificate so it matches the names of the child's parents on the birth certificate.

My son's case was a nightmare, you can see my post in the citizenship forum if you search for it.

I applied for expedited and got it in 3 months !

Some of my friends got theirs recently in less than 2 weeks, normal processing.
