Hello

Please answer if any one has experience on this scenario.

My permanent residence was approved after attending interview. I was given a temporary approval stamp valid for 1 year in passport for traveling purpose. But the actual card was received after 1 month after interview. My spouse received the actual PR card after 8 months after interview. The PR card does not

My question is what is the date that I should require for US citizenship apply.
Should I consider 5 year limit from the date my interview/approval or the date listed on PR card. In my case they are 2 months apart. For my spouse it is almost 10 months apart

Please share your experience or opinions

The date of lawful permanent residence is stated on the card and should be the same date as the one in the passport EXCEPT for refugees and asylees. What is your immigrant code?

My immigration based on employment. I was called for interview in local office and approved/stamped. I received the PR card later in mail. The PR card has different date than what they stamped on passport. Both me and my wife stamped on same day, but we received PR cards in different dates and on the PR card they printed resident since: <the date they issued PR not the date they stamped on passport>

If I were you, I would make an Infopass appointment and bring that to their attention. It sounds like a mistake in processing the greencard production/I181 Creation of record. Determining the correct date is important when it comes to naturalization eligibility. Good thing you are not waiting until the last second to try to figure it out.

What is the gap between the two dates? If it only a few weeks/months you just go by the date on your card. If it is any longer, then it might be worth contacting USCIS.
