Hi - I am a US citizen. I got the citizenship by marrying an american citizen. I got my conditional green card in July 2004 and my citizenship in 2007. I have two kids with my wife. We are going thru divorce now and i was wondering how long do i have to wait before i can (1) get married (2) sponsor my new wife (spouse visa)?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Since you became a LPR in 2004 you can file for your spouse immediately after your divorce. The requirement is only for 5 years after getting the LPR status.

Yes, they might give you hard time thinking it's a old sweet heart you are marrying now and suspect that you entered your previous marriage to evade US immigration laws.
Lawfully they can't Do anything about it other than using delaying tactics, but you have a very strong case to prove your intent otherwise as you have two children out of your previous marriage.

Yes. i met her while we were separated and had decided to divorce. There was nothing fake about my marriage thats why it lasted almost 9 years and i have two kids.
