US Citizen Sponsoring Japanese Wife While Abroad (Canada)

Hello All!

I'm a first time poster to this site and was hoping that you all could help me out with a few questions.

My wife and I got married in the US last month and I am looking to sponsor her into the US for us to move next year. We have been living together in Canada for the last five years. I am a US and Canadian Citizen and she is a Japanese Citizen.

We are just about done with the initial form I-130 but I have one question in regards to it.
They ask for intended residence in the US... since we are not yet located in the US, what should we put? I can always use my fathers address but was not sure if that was the right way of going about it.

After the I-130 gets approved is there a way to meet the income requirements without me being employed in the US yet? We are both employed in Canada. Do they have any savings requirement? Can we use a co-sponsor?

I'm sending in loads of supporting documentation but is there anything in specific that helps?

How long does processing usually take?

Lastly, is anyone aware of being able to process a visa at our local consulate? There is one in Montreal but I can't seem to get much of an answer out of them.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Have a wonderful day!

Yes, you may use your father's address. You can use your savings to meet I-864 requirements. You may also use a financial co-sponsor.
