US citizen of indian orgin - visiting india

Hi all,
I'm from india and recently naturalized as US Citizen. To visit india(not work), do i need to get visitor visa or can i use Indian passport itself.

I'm aware of OCI / PIO but have to visit india soon next week and cannot wait for 2 months to process OCI / PIO.

Appreciate any inputs
 
You automatically lost your indian citizenship when you took oath as a US citizen. Your Indian paspsort has become void. You will need a visa to travel to India. Visas are usually given in 1-2 days depending on the Indian mission nearest to you.
 
First you will need US passport then get Indian visa. There are services that charge a lot but get you visa in 1-2 days or you can go to consulate (if you are nearby) and get it yourself.

As it is said, your Indian passport is no longer valid.
 
No. If you are US citizen, you have to apply for a visa to India (or for that matter, any country). You will not be allowed entry without a visa, PIO or OCI card.
 
You need to get an Indian visa, or a PIO card, OCI card etc.

Your question is valid though, since many people possess multiple citizenships, and they use the passport (legally, apparently) of their original country when entering that country, and US passport when entering USA.

India does not allow that. In fact, I have read somewhere on this board (but different forum) that the Indian government has imposed fines on people who were using Indian passports illegally.
