Urgent question regarding the photo for DV-2010 .

You're right, it's not a photographic exam. That's what makes me hope that I won't be disqualified for the head being somehow big !!

Cuz they have what the photo is all about ( the head and neck ). What do the shoulders have to do with identifying a person. We all have two shoulders, no difference.

And they can ask the winners for a valid photo in the interview if they don't like the one in the electronic form.

It seems like you all agree on that the photo usually will not disqualify the person from the lottery unless it's a fatal mistake ( like non-white background, dotted pattern, retouching, sunglasses, face turned to one side or other things that may obscure the identity ).

They won't disqualify you because of that picture! I told you before IF they want to disqualify people for these thing then they will mention it clearly! It is USA and there are rules in that great country!:cool:

Don't worry about that and I wish, you receive your NL in april!!!;)

hey guys why do you worry about your photo so much..as long as the photo validator says your photo is valid its not a problem at all..i just want to ask a quick question to mr 700da ..did you put your picture through photo validator that you can find it in the website.and did it say the photo was valid..if you yes then there is nothing to worrry about..i took my picture with my old digital camera..at home..in the wall it was that good but..still got through dv..n now got GC aswell..so dnt worryy too much mann

Yes, I put the photo in the validator and it said it was valid. But, some believe that the Photo Validator checks only the technical specifications such as ( resolution, RGB format, number of bits, file size ) ..

However, after the reassurance from you guys here .. I think I will be safe.

So, what about your photo, you said it wasn't that good. Can you mention some details ?

actually i took my picture..in front of the door covering with white curtain...it wsnt very bright..and one of my ear was not visible at all bt...still it went..thru..there was no comments..so there u go mann its all abt..luck as well..bt..its fine..urs is fine..i can assure on that...
 
Your photo is fine i bet. KCC usually does not reject people based on small mistake with photos. I took a pic for someone last year and there was a big shadow behind him. After reviewing the photo criteria, we thaught there was no way he could get selected.

Guess what, he won. If i post the photo here, you will notice that your photo is 100 times better than his.
