My wife and I have our interview tomorrow. I have two urgent questions:-

1. Are we allowed to carry cel phones to the interview?

2. Any items that we are not allowed to carry.

Please reply ASAP - I will be checking for responses soon before I hit the sack.

Thank you.

I have read somewhere that phones and cameras are disallowed at interviews. Cameras are however allowed at oath ceremonies. Not sure about phones in oath rooms.

I had my interview in NYC yesterday. I took my cell phone in. I was asked to turn it off when I entered the waiting room. There was also a written statement on the sheet that said that cell phones were to be turned off. So, I did. Some time later, I saw a young woman happily chatting on the phone (and I could hear every word she said)... completely oblivious to everyone around her. Hmmm.... she was lucky that they didn't confiscate her phone...

But you had your phone at Federal Plaza, no? I think the OP is going to Garden City. When I was in SF, camera phones (and cameras) weren't even allowed INTO the building, on or off, so I am curious to know about Garden City too (since that's where my interview might be).

Oh, your signature says Garden City. Cool, so being a Brooklyner, more signs that I can expect a Federal Plaza interview! Nice.

My and my spouse's interview went very well ... no issues what so ever... we passed the interview test, but the interview officer checked a box that states "A decisin cannot yet be made" ... so now I am in wait and watch mode...

Hmm, if the IO marked the box "A decision cannot yet be made" on an N-652, this indicates some kind of a snag. Typically, if everything goes well, the IO marks the box "Congratulations! This case is being recommended for approval". Did the IO tell you why your case was not immediately recommended for approval?

It's common for NY DO's to hand out decision cannot be made when application has name change or tax transcripts are asked for.
