:( I'm in a big fix rite now.. .

I'm on F-1 visa and just about to go to India for winter holidays in a day. I have all the documents with me but I just noticed a big error (i guess)

THE item # 5 on my SEVIS I-20 which mentions the student's return date (i.e. The student is expected to school no later than ---- ) is the same as in my OLD I-20 when I had travelled before.

THe date of issue on this I-20 is the latest ie Nov 2004 but the item 5 return date has not been updated.... which means the return date at present is older than the issue date

e.g. Return date expected = Sep 04 (item 5)
Date of isssue of I-20 = Nov 04.

My SEVIS ID is the same on both I-20's. My advisor said I need to get a new one(with same SEVIS ID) for travel ...

Problem is when I re-enter, I don't think I would be allowed back would I ?

The International Office is closed until next 7 days :( and my flight leaves tomorrow.

Anyone can advice me on this :( Should have checked earlier but can't help it now .

it's not your return date, it's the date you were supposed to report to school for the very first time.

Student is supposed to "report" (not return) to school. :) It will be the same for all the I-20s issued for the same program.

As long as you got the I-20 signed by ISO for travel purposes - you are fine.
