Urgent Please Birth Cerificate Affidavit

For some reason I didn't get my Birth Certificate from India and it will take 30 days to get it to me but I have to appy for the I.140 my next week..

I came to know that we can apply Affidavit in place of Birth Certificate....Please send that document to me if you have .

You can also get the Birth Certifiacte from the Indian Embassy in DC. I am not sure how well it works with INS. My lawayer said it should be OK- that is what I have submitted. I have not heard anything on that from INS yet- 6-7 months now.

--- Indian embassy certificate will not be accepted, you will get RFE at final stage to submit Birth certificate, if one does not have BC then 2 Affidavits from your parents from India and Non Availability certificate. Visit www.immihelp.com for sample of affidavits, Non availability certificate you have to get from Municipality, if you were born in village in India then go to your District and ask for Registrar of Birth and death record, you have to make application and tell them it is needed for Job, but in North India, Gujarat they know about it and you have to bribe the clerk pay 300- to 500 you can get Non-availability certificate in 1- 2 days. if it is not in English get it translated from Notary in India and get 2-3 copies stamped as TRUE Translation with notary stamp
